RoQ Recruitment is delighted to be a sponsor of The Fire Tones Christmas charity single “Do they know it’s Christmas?” More than 40 fire service personnel from across the UK met earlier this month to record the single in Birmingham. The single is set to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity and the Band Aid Charity Trust, with Welshpool firefighter and organiser Chris Birdsell-Jones saying their efforts are already gathering momentum ahead of a launch on November 30th.
Speaking about the recording Chris said that “We wanted to honour the spirit of the original recording and get it all done in one day, just as they did with the original Live Aid single. I must admit I was nervous on the day because you’ve put all this work in and you’re wondering things like ‘is that person going to turn up?’ and ‘is this actually going to work?’. But on the day it was just incredible, they played it back to us in the studio and I thought ‘Wow, this isn’t just a bit of fun, they can really sing.’”
RoQ is excited to play a role in The Fire Tones journey as they aim to RoQet up the charts, by sponsoring the production of the CD. Andy Boyle, Partner at RoQ stated that “The Fire Tones have produced something that reminds us all at this time of year what is important to our communities. We at RoQ are proud to be sponsoring The Fire Tones Christmas single that is in aid of The Fire Fighters Charity and the Band Aid Charity Trust. They are supporting our everyday heroes and projects designed to make a lasting difference to the lives of people in and around Ethiopia.”
